An Enchanting Day

Winter weddings are magical. And although you can’t rely on a backdrop of glistening white snow on the most wonderful of days, you can count on The Blossom to deliver the perfect winter wonderland wedding.

That’s why when bride and groom, Felicity and Thomas, approached us and asked for a wintery, woodland feel for their special day at Peckforton Castle, we couldn’t say no.

A Winter’s Tale

A wedding at Peckforton Castle is always exciting. Set within the picturesque Cheshire countryside, the venue’s breath-taking architecture, sandstone walls, marble floors and vaulted ceilings provided the ideal ‘medieval’ setting for our new ‘Enchanted Forest’ collection.

The happy couple wanted their special day to have a grand, spectacular feel within a set budget – so we had to change the way we work.

By combining fresh foliage with our classic silk flowers.

This gave our displays a natural, elegant look and thanks to the fresh eucalyptus, an unmistakable gorgeous scent filled the room.

The Grand Entrance

Dressing a ceremony room for a wedding is so important because it adds extra elegance when the beautiful bride enters.

We lined the aisle with centrepieces combined with seasonal berries, cone decorations and white snow-dusted branches to bring out the frosty, winter feel. And from the stems, we hung delicate tealight baubles and twinkling snowflake ornaments.

Candles and rose petals lined the floor, leading the way to the star of the show – a magnificent floral arch – which framed the stunning bride as she entered the hall with her father.

The Perfect Banquet

Following the ceremony, the party were led into the idyllic grounds of the castle for the customary photographs before returning to the Great Hall to audible gasps of delight.

The tall centrepieces were placed on all the guest tables and were surrounded by masses of candles and tealights.

We’d decorated the top table with a fresh foliage garland entwined around antlers, and to compliment the look we added fresh moss, pheasant feathers, frozen wood branches and adorable forest birds.

And the magical woodland look was completed with by tealights twinkling on sliced wood and candles.

Overall it gave the room a grand banquet feel while retaining style and elegance.

A Happy Ever After

Felicity and Thomas were overjoyed with the look and feel our ‘Enchanted Forest’ collection added to their winter wedding, saying afterwards:

“Thank you again for making our day so perfect. The flowers really blew everyone away!”
