The Perfect English Garden Wedding

Have you dreamt of the perfect English Garden wedding?

Does it include a beautiful eighteenth-century manor house with a heavenly garden surrounded by 120 acres of the most picturesque countryside?

A Breath-taking Venue

I’ve had the same dream, and when The Blossom team covered a wedding at Northbrook Park, a manor house in scenic Surrey, I found dreams do come true.

The venue is quintessentially English and as you approach it takes your breath away with its sunken central lawn, fruit and bay trees, rose bushes and water features.

Our bride and groom, Vivienne and Ikechi, chose the perfect setting for their English Garden wedding with the grounds supplying natural foliage and aromas in the late-September sun.

A Wedding in Eden

The ceremony took place in The Vine Room, with its high walls and ceilings and spectacular golden chandeliers, vine engravings and arched windows.

It was beautiful but extremely white.

What it needed was an explosion of colour.

The bride and groom were relaxed about the décor and style, but it was important not to lose the ‘feel’ of the venue. So, we took inspiration from the garden with its cascading ivy, delicate blooms and large magnolia tree and brought the outside in.

We lined the aisle with vases filled with colourful silk flowers, made up of hydrangeas, peonies and roses in cream, pink, violet, and peach.

We set these amidst green foliage from which hung delicate glass tealight baubles. Next, we added a wedding arch Vivienne and Ikechi would make their vows beneath and weaved in silk flowers to continue the flow of colour throughout the room.

A Celebration in Silk

Vivienne looked beautiful in a dazzling white, lace dress and Ikechi, handsome, in a smart, blue suit and bowtie as the happy couple expressed their love for one another.

Then, following the ceremony, the wedding party enjoyed sparkling champagne in the garden as the peacocks that roam the estate made an appearance to the delight of the guests.

However, for us, it was time to head to the Orangery where the reception was to take place.

The Orangery is a beautiful room that runs the length of the secluded, walled garden. And with its exposed brickwork and glass doors that open to the lawn outside, it’s a space that felt warm, but still needed a personal touch.

We moved all the arrangemetns and candles from The Vine Room into the Orangery, which meant we kept the same colours and feel.

We added a breath-taking floral wall made of stunning white flowers and green ivy, before completing the look with a colourful silk top-table display.

A Day to Remember

Vivienne and Ikechi’s English Garden wedding summed up the love they have for each other, and the happy couple went above and beyond, summing up their day with these beautiful words:

“When myself and my husband met Izabella we were not worried. We spoke the same language when it came to the floral arrangement of the wedding.
Izabella went all out for us, and the overall input of her work exceeded what we paid her to do. My husband uses this sentence to describe what The Blossom Company created: The Garden of Eden.
I knew Izabella was talented, but I did not expect what we got. Izabella, Ikechi and I love and appreciate you, and we are so thankful for all you have done for us.”
